In the third of the Bancroft Institute’s Policy and Research Discussion series, to be held Friday October 31, keynote speakers Beth Kilgour and Agnieszka Kosny will discuss findings from their qualitative literature review of interaction between injured workers and their insurers in the workers’ compensation system. Their study supports a growing consensus that involvement in the compensation system results in poorer outcomes for claimants, and suggests further research is needed on how to promote positive interactions and prevent secondary psychosocial harm. Four panel members will comment on the presentation and mental health impacts of dealing with the compensation system.
